Avenue Handmade

It’s the simple things.

April 11, 2008 · 4 Comments

Like homemade granola for breakfast. Triscuits, sharp cheddar and fresh pineapple for lunch. A three-day weekend. Music that sounds like everything you love about the South. Bourbon slushies and late-night giggles. A friend’s small good fortune. A gulp of cold water. The bouganvillea in my front yard. For one day, ignoring all the minutia you should be worrying about and enjoying the company of people you love who live far away.

Me \'n my sister-in-law.

Just a few simple things that have made me smile today. Happy weekend! How was your day?

Wow. Love the simple things. Your simple things put me at ease. The 2 things that stood out: fresh pineapple and gulp of cold water. Mm…refreshing.

My day was great! It was sunny and in the 70’s here in Seattle-town. So rare nowadays! It made me long for summer to come by sooner.

    LOVE the picture.

I literally cannot get enough fresh pineapple these days. Even though the acid wreaks havoc on my tummy.

Ooh the 70s sounds nice! It was in the 80s here and although it made for a fun day at the beach, it also made for some sunburn….

Glad you like the pic. BTW, that’s me on the right (over a year ago, when I had dreads), and the feet in the first pic belong to the girl on the left (my sis-in-law). In case anyone wanted to know.
